Error 13494-81735 when launching QuickBooks 2006 or later after uninstalling earlier version
What is happening
After uninstalling an earlier version and trying to open QuickBooks version 2006 or later, error code 13494-81735 occurs and the program closes.
How to fix the problem
To fix this issue, run a repair on the QuickBooks version you are trying to open, and then run Reboot.bat.
Detailed Instructions
1. Repair the QuickBooks Installation:
* Microsoft Windows Vista:
1. Reboot the computer to stop all QuickBooks services.
2. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
3. Under Programs select Uninstall a program.
4. Double-click the version of QuickBooks requiring Repair. If the User Account Control (UAC) widow opens, click Continue.
5. The Installer window opens. Click Next.
6. Select the Repair option, and click Next.
7. Click Repair. After the Repair has completed click Finish. If prompted, reboot PC.
* Microsoft Windows XP/2000
1. Click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Control Panel (or select Settings > Control Panel depending on your version of Windows). The Control Panel window opens.
2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. The Add or Remove Programs window opens.
3. Select the QuickBooks program, and then click Change/Remove.
4. Click Next in the QuickBooks Installation window.
5. Select Repair in the QuickBooks Maintenance window, click Next, and then click Repair.
6. Click Finish in the QuickBooks Maintenance Complete window.
2. Run reboot.bat:
1. Right-click the Microsoft Windows Start button and select Explore.
2. Browse to the directory where QuickBooks is installed (by default C:Program filesIntuitQuickBooks[200x]).
3. Locate and double-click the reboot.bat file.
4. When reboot.bat has finished running, restart QuickBooks. |
